Please see below a letter from Sue Aviston who is leading the Consultation into the future of Berwick Schools.
Following a staff meeting with Sue earlier this week we would like to stress to you that the two currently proposed options are just the first ideas to be put forward and that Sue and the team are very keen to hear your views on these ideas as well as any alternative ideas that you think may work better than the current proposals.
We urge you to attend one of the up coming session and get involved in the changes that may affect the future of education in Berwick.

This is a reminder that Northumberland County Council’s Consultation (Phase 2) on the structure of schools in the Berwick Partnership is ongoing until 3 March 2023.
The Phase 2 Consultation Document sets out the reasons for the consultation and also sets out possible models for school structure (i.e. 3-tier (first/middle/high) or 2-tier (primary/secondary) for parents, pupils, staff, governors and the wider community to consider. It also asks whether you have any alternative ideas about how schools could be structured. You can find the document on the Council’s website at:

The Council is also running four public drop-in events early 2023. You can attend any of the drop-in events and this will give you the opportunity to ask questions of Council Officers and relevant School Representatives.

Venue: Berwick Middle School, Lovaine Terrace, Berwick, TD15 1LA (please note this is a change to the previously advertised venue)
